She has been involved with Norwegian Elkhounds ever since. Travelling around all the shows handling friend’s dogs until her Parents allowed her to have her own in 1988. Showing successfully at all levels Tammy, “Ch Varanger Tamara” went on to win 8 CC’s and 9 RCC’s. After Tammy, came the first “Whittimere”, Ch Whittimere Silver Cracker.

Nicola began judging the breed in 1992 and in 2003 awarded her first set of CC’s at the Hound Association Championship Show, and has now awarded them several times, culminating in Crufts 2022. She has now retired from judging.

She was on the Committee of the Norwegian Elkhound Club of Great Britain for 12 years, 4 of those as the Honorary Secretary. When the Norwegian Elkhound Association of Scotland was winding down, she also took over the role of Honorary Secretary for a period of time to help the Club survive. But her true love is showing this amazing breed.
